Diversity ICI Framework

My work is underpinned by the ICI approach, focusing on Implementation, Change and Impact.

It provides a clear and practical way of supporting organisations to move from intention to measurable outcomes in equity, diversity and inclusion.

Rather than treating inclusion as a standalone initiative, this approach embeds it into governance, leadership and everyday decision making, ensuring that change is both meaningful and sustained.

What makes this approach different?

"The strength of the ICI approach is its balance."

It connects strategy with delivery, governance with culture, and data with lived experience. This ensures that inclusion is not treated as a one off activity, but as a core part of how organisations function and make decisions.

People are at the centre of this work, recognising that sustainable change depends not only on systems and processes, but on leadership, behaviour and culture.

Implementation

Turning strategy into clear, actionable steps with defined ownership and accountability.

This includes strengthening governance structures, aligning policy and systems, and ensuring that leaders and teams have clarity on what needs to happen and who is responsible.

Change

Supporting leaders and teams to embed inclusive behaviours, navigate complexity and lead change effectively.

This focuses on how change is experienced in practice, including building confidence, enabling honest conversations and creating environments where challenge and learning can take place.

Impact

Measuring progress through both data and lived experience, ensuring that outcomes are visible and sustained over time.

This includes strengthening oversight and assurance, using insight to inform decisions and ensuring that change is felt across the organisation, not just reported.

How this works in practice

In practice, the ICI approach works across governance, leadership and culture to ensure alignment between strategy and delivery.

This includes working with boards and senior leaders to strengthen accountability, supporting teams to translate strategy into day to day practice, and ensuring that lived experience and stakeholder insight inform decision making.

The focus is always on bridging the gap between intention and reality, so that inclusion is embedded into how the organisation operates.
